Making Facebook productive

I am sure most of us are big fan of Facebook, however I am also sure about the fact that most of us are cursing Facebook for eating our precious time which could have been used in more productive ways. No wonder, why we have seen thousands of “likes” for the posts like – “World was productive when Facebook was down for 15 min” & so on..

Why I should bother if anybody from his acquaintances likes his friend’s(or his  acquaintance’s  ) marriage photo? Fair question, right? and our mind is like monkey which goes from one snap to other by being a dabbler for hours and hours..

Any data that is written on a hard drive never gets deleted even after deleting it using delete command. Data will only be deleted when it gets overwritten by other data. So next time when you accidently delete something from your hard-drive, then don’t lose hopes. Are you one of those who use Apple Safari on windows? If not then this post will be interesting and useful one for you. Those who are sticking to Firefox or IE won’t know  “Reader” button’s functionality which appears in safari’s address bar. It formats your webpage in neat readable format, clearing out all clutter containing ads and other uninteresting stuff. This button can be found in all mobile versions of safari too. It is really useful to read web-contents in uniform manner irrespective of website’s format.

Online banking penetration is still in progress in many developing countries. However, developed countries have shown tremendous growth in online banking . This can be seen from the facts like -10% increase in internet transaction every year from 2006 – 2011,31 Billion transactions happened over internet in 2010. But this growth is marred by security issues with online banking and end user’s vulnerability(especially browser’s) that allow attackers to exploit them.

From my personal experience, I don’t bear confidence while transacting on internet, having doubt all the time that whether my system is secure enough or not. Browser vulnerability check

Yes, I am talking about Internet browsers.  If you are, then did you know that these extensions can do anything that you can do independently  in your browser. They can send your bank information, execute commands and much more, while you are watching your favourite video on YouTube!

Qualys is a nice tool for checking browser’s vulnerability posed via these plugins, in browser itself. You heard it right, you don’t need to install anything, just open this link or open a bookmarked page of Qualys and click on Launch a quick scan now link there. Google Reader Play–Nice way to read news

I always wish, whenever I wake up in my  bed, I should see all news that interest me on a big screen and in big titles. The perfect way would be a slideshow on a projector screen. So if I am interested in Apple Inc. then, as soon as I wake up ,I should see news- “Apple stock hits record high : $500” while having my coffee. Wouldn’t this be a nice idea?

How to increase YouTube upload limit

I don’t know how many of us have noticed that- now you can easily increase your YouTube videos upload limit. Previously if you have tried uploading a video more than 15 minutes long then Youtube might have rejected due to its excessive length. And if you wanted to increase the uploading limit then you had to upload videos very frequently and you had to increase your audience and the view rate of the videos. But now its very easy. According to YouTube, you can remove this limitation by using following option:
